What drink should i get at a bar?

Alright.. so I am not a big drinker... however I have recently found myself at a couple bars with a dumbfounded look on my face as I decide what to order... I am not indecisive... I just have no idea what my options are since bars don't have menus... after standing with a blank face while the bartender gets impatient I usually just order a Bud Light or a rum & Coke... honestly, I don't like either... What is a manly drink that most/all bars would have available that I can order and enjoy and won't make me look like an idiot or a douche (and doesn't cost a million bucks).
